To Trim Or To Caulk?

Trim Vs. Caulk

When it comes to sealing the seams between multiple HandiWALL® slatwalls, you have a choice between trim and caulk. HandiWALL® Trim is made here in the U.S.A. by HandiSOLUTIONS®. They are made of the same proprietary PVC material as HandiWALL® panels, and are color-coded to match. Our trim are carefully designed and manufactured with the specific dimensions to ensure a flush integration when used in conjunction with HandiWALL®. Besides for our Starter Kits and Framed Kits, trim is sold separately at HandiSOLUTIONS®, along with our distributors and dealers. Colored caulk is not something HandiSOLUTIONS® sells... yet. However, it can be found in most local hardware stores. The tricky part of color-matching caulk is finding a brand you like and a color that best matches your HandiWALL®.

Trim

Using our color-coded trim is a straightforward and professional-looking solution. The trim pieces are designed to fit perfectly between panels, providing an overall polished, cohesive appearance. This option is ideal for those who prefer a defined and uniform look, as the trim pieces create clean lines and add a touch of architectural detail to the installation.

Caulk

On the other hand, colored caulk offers a more seamless and integrated look. By matching the caulk to the color of your slatwall panels to the best of your abilities, you can create the illusion of a continuous surface that minimizes the visibility of panel separations. This method is perfect for those who want a sleek and simple appearance.

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, both options will get the job done, but they serve different aesthetic functions. HandiWALL® trim provides a crisp, professional finish, outlining the edges of the panels while colored caulk attempts to do quite the opposite by blending the seams. HandiWALL® trim is designed to be easy to install and minimizes room for error, whereas colored caulk acts more as a DIY element to the installation process.
