How To Clean PVC
PVC Panels
One of the greatest benefits of having HandiWALL® slatwall panels is that they are super easy to clean. We make all of our slatwall panels out of a proprietary blend of PVC. This material is not only extremely durable and versatile, but also requires very low maintenance, making it a standout option in the slatwall industry. With just these few simple steps your HandiWALL® can look as good as new:
Step 1: Dust Be Gone!
Begin by dusting off any loose dirt and debris. Use a microfiber cloth or a duster to swipe away the dust that’s settled into the grooves. For those hard-to-reach spots, a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment works perfectly. This initial step prevents dirt from turning into a muddy mess when you start cleaning with water.

Step 2: Mix Up A Gentle Cleaning Solution
PVC slatwalls are generally quite resilient, but it’s best to avoid harsh chemicals that could damage its surface. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap is ideal. Fill a bucket with warm water and add a little bit of dish soap to create a sudsy solution.
Step 3: Wipe Down The Surface
Dip a soft cloth or sponge into your soapy solution, making sure to wring it out well so it’s damp but not dripping. Wipe down your HandiWALL®, working from top to bottom. This method ensures that dirty water drips down to areas you haven’t cleaned yet, preventing streaks and missed spots. For stubborn stains, you can apply a bit more pressure or use a soft-bristled brush.

Step 4: Rinse And Dry
After cleaning with the soapy solution, it’s time to rinse away any remaining soap residue. Dampen a clean cloth with plain water and wipe over your HandiWALL® again. This step helps ensure no soap is left behind, which could attract more dirt over time.
Step 5: (Optional) Shine And Polish
To give your HandiWALL® a bit of a shine, you can use a commercial plastic cleaner or polish. These products are designed to restore the surface’s luster and provide a protective layer. Follow the instructions on the product, usually involving applying the cleaner with a soft cloth and buffing it to a shine.
